Udinese - Lazio

Udinese Look For Revenge

Udinese look to get back on track after their disappointing display in Turin last Sunday. Marino’s men looked extremely uncomfortable and could not muster up any really scoring chances at the Stadio Olimpico Grande.
Marino was baffled by the performance stating that “we were too timid and did not develop our game and gave up too easily. We were in awe of our opponents and that’s not one of our usual characteristics.” Marino will be further concerned by the performances of Fabio Quagliarella who has not been able to find his scoring touch yet this season.

The Bianconeri will need their hit-man to snap out of his slump as they were outscored 8-1 in both matches against Napoli last year including a 5-0 drubbing in this same fixture. Both Quagliarella and his partner in crime, Antonio Di Natale were rested in the UEFA Cup match against Borussia Dortmund on Thursday evening. The team performed admirably in their absence and ran out as 2-0 winners in the intimidating confines of the Westfalenstadion.

Udinese were the better team for most of the match and Marino was extremely pleased stating that "we were very aggressive and in doing so, neutralized their central midfielders. We closed down and counterattacked well, and we ended up building many goal scoring opportunities."

Napoli Look To Extend Unbeaten Run

Morale is sky high in the Napoli camp right now as the team have been firing on all cylinders to start the young campaign. Expectations were high coming into the new season as the Azzurri did very well in the summer transfer window, bringing in new talent to the Stadio San Paolo. The team have lived up to the early hype and that has only raised both the spirits and emotions of their supporters in and around the city.
The behaviour of some zealots in the Rome subway system have unfortunately given the club and its true believers a black eye amidst the teams renaissance.

Two large sections of the San Paolo stadium will remain shutdown until October 20th despite an appeal by the club that was subsequently turned down last week. That ban did not hurt the team’s performance against a dangerous Fiorentina squad which saw them come back from a 1-0 deficit to win the match with two goals in the second half.
The “comeback kids,” also clawed their way back from a one goal deficit to salvage a draw against Roma in their first match of the season. Taking four out a possible six points against two of the most competitive sides in the Serie A is an example of the team’s ambitions for this campaign
