Verdasco is a player that i like actually. He has a great forehand with his left hand and a decent surrounding arsenal of shots. But i rate him still fragile mentally. He's playing a lot of matches, a lot of tournaments but most of the time he can't reach the important stages.Against a tough old dog as the Argentinian, who is one of the great defenders in the circuit, Verdasco will need to be at 100%. We've seen how much had to struggle the star of the year Del Potro against his countryman and i rate the young Juan Martin much more stabile mentaly and much more consistent in the rallies than Fernando.These odds are more or less right but i believe that Verdasco might lose this one, more than Canas to win it.The Spaniard lost against a Ferrero who is at the same level of Canas, even though being completly different style wise.mid low stakes for the old. experienced god to pull it off on fast (H2H 3-2 Verdasco - 3 on clay, 2 on hard for Canas)
Ernest Gulbis - Fernando Gonzales 1 @ 2/00 Bet 365
I believe that Ernest has been underestimated here. The young Latvian is a very good all court player with a big love for indoors.Even though he made his break through on the Paris clay, he is much more redoutable on fast surfaces imo.Gonzo is in a quite shaky form, losing very badly to Berdych in Tokyo (10K+ km from Vienna) in Friday. Yes, Berdych was brilliant there but losing the first set 6-0 means that you miss all your possible weapons, starting from the serve and ending at the FH.He also lost to Phau in the previous tournament and i believe that being on this plate, slididng down, he is meeting a player that must be on his way up, much fresher eventually, with great arguments on this surface.I go full stakes here, mainly based on my gutfeelling that this match will be won by Gulbis. I am also considering him as a potential winner of the tournament but i will wait this round and check how the table is going.A minimum of 7 units are to be staked here, i go with 10.
